Nevada Pharmacy Technician certification requirements

PhT Certification is recognized but not mandatory. The state of Nevada recognizes certification through either PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) or ICPT (Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians).

State of Nevada Pharmacy Technician License requirements

Nevada require pharmacy technicians to register and obtain their license in order to work with the Nevada State Board of Pharmacy. To obtain your license you would need to meet the following requirements: Be 18, have a GED or equivalent, no history of drug abuse and meet at least ONE of the following:

Be licensed in another state with 240 hours of employement completed.

Completed 1500 hours in Nevada as a trainee.

Graduated from an American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) training program with 350 hours employment in Nevada.

Graduated from a school in another state that is not accredited by ASHP (i.e. Armed Forces of the United States, the Indian Health Service of the United States Department of Health and Human Services or the United States Department of Veterans Affair) and have passed the PTCB national certification exam.
