How to Become a Pharmacy Technician in Louisiana

In order to become a pharmacy tech in Louisiana you can either: 

  1. Complete a pharmacy technician program at a community or vocational schools. These take about a year to complete and includes both classroom and clinical experience.
  2. Complete a pharmacy technician program offered by a hospital or community pharmacy. These programs are shorter in duration but offer real hands on experience and training while you also get paid.

  4. Complete a pharmacy technician program through the military. This option is open to active duty service members and veterans.
